This video is an informational video about the BCIR (Barnett Continent Intestinal Reservoir). This video (part 2 of 3) are intended to give you information about the procedure, the probable benefits, possible discomforts and risks, as well as other surgical alternatives.

The Barnett Continent Intestinal Reservoir (BCIR) is an applicance-free intra-abdominal ileostomy. Candidates for the procedure are: * Individuals who have Familial Polyposis (FP) or a case of medically unresponsive Ulcerative Colitis and are not a candidate for a J-Pouch or do not desire one. * Individuals who are experiencing problems associated with the conventional Ileostomy * Individuals who have a malfunctioning Kock or J-Pouch
