  • Late 80s to early 90s very good computer for games, with both graphics, sound and playability superior to that time PCs.

i'm saying if MD games were designed via the Amiga

it seemed they didn't get the best result out of the MD

as the Mega Drive had the Zilog Z80 8-bit co-precessor

they should've used the ST when developing MD games

MD CPU speed is closer to Atari ST CPU 8 MHz speed

Sega Mega Drive 7.6 MHz CPU and Zilog Z80 3.58 MHz

Amiga 7.09 MHz or 7.16 MHz is too slow for MD console

  • @JasonLee310 Second if the supposedly "low pallet" of the Amiga (4096 colors on screen compared to the MD's 64..), then why has Lotus on the MD less colors and looks grainier than the Amiga version ? because of the lower color pallet (512 colors),

The Amiga is graphically superior to the Megadrive which makes loin heart (I highly recommend looking at the lava level of that game) not possible on the megadrive without meeting the same fate as cool spot here on Amiga, monochrome backgrounds.

  • @JasonLee310 I'm sorry, but your comment is so poorly written that I can't understand what you're trying to say, I think you're saying that games graphics are as good as the development machine can handle ? if so than that's wrong, The Amiga was the number one Megadrive development machine because the two are very similar, Sega institute used Amigas to make Kid Chameleon, Sonic 2, 3 & knuckles and even the unreleased Sonic Xtreme for saturn/pc and many more

  • @janmansde3dede

are you saying some Amiga/ST games can't be put on Mega Drive ?

because of the limited palette capabilities on the Amiga/ST computer

Lotus Turbo Challenge games were designed for Amiga/ST computers

if the developer used Amiga or ST hardware to create the MD versions

its pointless comparing Amiga and Mega Drive Lotus Turbo Challenge 2

unless Mega Drive version was created using the MD console hardware

  • @kingarthurpendragon

what percentage of Amiga games were ported to Sega Genesis?

when an Amiga game was converted onto the Sega Genesis/MD

did Mega Drive take advantage of the MD hardware capabilities?

  • @Thetruehypersonic Here's a better one, look up lotus turbo challenge 2 on Amiga and megadrive and after that look up lion heart or stardust, games that simply can't be done on the megadrive because of the limited palette capabilities , this a very lazy port not taking advantage of the Amiga's capabilities because virgin was one of those "professional" game developers that only made games for consoles and didn't care about the amiga. cheers.
