  • Try game variation 10 thru 16 for a shield when you press down.. 17 thru 24 flips your spacecraft.. 25 thru 32... nothing happens.. game 33 is a kids version, I can't remember what makes it a kids' version, tho.. :( I'm gonna plug it in now and find out..

  • Great review, Linkz. This game is awesome.

  • ha I always moved around in the 2600 version. That's probably why I wasn't very good at it. Nice review, man.

This was one of the first Atari 2600 games I owned with Midnight Magic.

  • Main difference between 2600 vs Arcade: on the 2600 the asteroids go in a up/down formation. On the arcade version the asteroids went everywhere. That stay-in-the-middle strategy would not last long in the arcade. Great game.

The additional thrust is intentional and adds to the complexity of the game.

I do like that the 2600 is easier, because I too sucked at the arcade.

  • Great review for Asteroids. You did forget to mention a coupld more features that you can choose from besides the warp. You can set it to either flip your ship 180 degrees or have a shield. I can also sit and play this game for hours on the hardest setting. I usually turn it off after flipping the score a few times since it gets repetitive.

  • HAHA yeah I use the sit in the middle of the screen and shot strategy too. Cool video man.

  • Nice review there linkz, you've gotten some good quality on the video, I usually don't see that when people point the camera on the screen.

I also used to suck at asteroids and when I played it again on my 7800 now I realized... I STILL SUCK! :O but it's still a fun game. :)

    Good Work /Escordian. :)
