Can you believe it has been a year since the disastrous BP oil spill? I still remember the horrible pictures of birds covered in oil and watching dumbfounded as thousands of gallons of oil gushed into the ocean for almost three months. We were finally able to cap the well but the damage had been done -- who knows if our oceans will ever be the same?
Scientists won't know the full effects of the oil spill for years but strange things are already happening. This spring, hundreds of dead baby dolphins have washed up on Gulf shores -- some of them even had BP oil on them!
That's why, for my birthday, I'm asking you to donate to Oceana. By supporting me and Oceana, you will
- fight legislation that would put sea turtles, seals, dolphins, and other animals at risk of another oil spill
- support clean energy, like offshore wind
Help me celebrate my 25th birthday and fight for healthier turtles, dolphins, seals -- and our oceans!
