  • If you can get to the attic we install a butterfly backdraft damper in the exhaust line and foam seal all of the metal penetrations from the attic side. The damper is made by Fantech. Some exhaust lives are 3" so you have to also install a 3"-4" reducer. Fantech only makes 4" 6" 8" backdraft dampers.

Haven't figured out how to effectively seal the exhaust fan when they are in the subfloor. Even some of the newer more expensive exhaust fans don't seal air very well.

  • seal return air before blower door test.

  • I am a bit confused how are you generating this air what machine are you using and where is it located?

  • You have to make sure that the duct is vented through the roof and you can install a backdraft damper

  • How do you stop air leakage thru a bathroom exhaust fan duct work?
