In the 40th anniversary of this recording made at Temple BMH (Beit Medrash Hagadol) in Denver, Cantor Goldstein z'l" (1933-1986) performs and conducts his own composition with his family and the BMH adult choir. The two boy soloists and two of the last of the "vi malei" boys, are cantors Martin and Adam Goldstein, ages 13 and 10 in this recording. The two budding cantors frequently sang for cantors Leibele Waldman, Sholom Katz, Moshe Ganchoff, Jacob Goldstein, and numerous others. This song was based on a Chassidic refrain and the verses were composed by Cantor Goldstein. This is one of many beautiful recordings that will be posted on youtube from the BMH Denver album and will be archived soon at www.cantoramygoldstein.com. Liner notes and video by Amy Goldstein. Shalom peace!
Mclainrose thank you so kindly for your comment! I'm assuming you have heard my father's other videos on youtube and may be comparing that sound to this recording? if so, this recording was made in a studio in 1970 and the others on here were recordings of recordings of recordings taken directly off the radio as someone in their living room taped WEVD spots :-) Thanks again for listening!
