....
Social science is based on empirical data and is not absolute. A social scientific theory like the evolution of social interraction is rather important, even if it is not absolute. I study the secular science of religion, and I do believe it is important to understand the psychological and more importantly, the neurologic base that deals with concepts in religion.
Psychology without basis in neurology is questionable, obviously, but it is indeed science.

"on the fly" videos come across as more honest and more likable. Scripted vids remind me of TV. (blah, fooey....)
This vid was not hard to follow. Good job.

The "youths" (pronounced like on Cousin Vinny)...well "some" of the "youths" are so smart these days. I don't remember being this brilliant at 23 :-O

You're a psychiatrist, aren't ya?
But no, I hear ya. I almost didn't even upload it. These are often done right after my mind numbing night shifts so I'm not always spot on (I'd actually argue that I'm rarely ever spot on).
I'm also quite shameless when it comes to making pathetic excuses.
But hey, beats watching Fred.

No sweat, just funny that Gary mentioned his overuse of the `ya know` and `uhmm` and here I do a vid with plenty of it as well.
Gonna do some more well rounded stuff on this topic later down the road.

I agree with you. But Im a skeptic of free will.
Free will implies there is something seperate from genes or environment that dictates your actions. But there has to be a soul or something which is seperate to make such an assumption.

I'm generally with you on the free will stuff, but every now and then I'll walk the fence on that subject simply because I concede that we ARE our genes. The soul/magic stuff in a non-necessity for choice. Animals make choices, albeit choices guided by their DNA. Why call it something else just because the organism's chemistry dictated it? So I guess it comes down to semantics.
Though a debate with inmendham on this would probably set me straight.
