  • I still can't help but think that capcom once again messed up a series with a BAD decision, in this case, killing mia. I can never forgive redd white, but, I'm starting to lose my patience with capcom as well. they make some of the best games ever, but they never fail to fuck em all up. I know many won't agree, but then again, many will.

  • @Rougamaru I don't necessarily think it was a bad decision to kill her off. It was a bad decision to do it so quickly in the series. You barely get to know her as a character as when Maya channels her she's only around for a little while and you only talk to her about the case.

  • @Showaddywaddyw I agree completely. Her death led the way for the introduction of Maya and the whole spirit channeling deus ex machina. I think she was a great character and could have been around for longer, but not having her with him forced Phoenix to think for himself more.

  • @GelidKatana well, what I meant was, dahlia would be in cahoots with redd.

like, one big conspiracy, ya know? I mean, think about it.

imagine the secrets redd would have if he had a family of corrupt channelers.

and, in exchange for their services, dahlia and her family

had redd kill and frame mia and her family.

it would have made the build up of the series seem stronger.

basically, it would have given the series more depth, imo.

and yes, I got the warm fuzzy feeling too. #^~^#

  • @Rougamaru but dahlia was sucha better final boss, i had so much hatred for her that when i finally caught her and foiled her plans for the last time i got a warm fuzzy feeling XD

  • @geishonen Hold It!

Your statement proves my previous "testimony" more. Yes, indeed, Mia and Maya had a heartfelt reunion. However, there would be no "beautiful reunion" if Mia lived in the series!

    -Desk slam-

Therefore, it is only right that Mia shall be killed in such an early stage of the game.

  • @RobotoDomo OBJECTION!

I hope I'm not misunderstanding your statement, but although Maya channels Mia most of the time, in "Justice For All" it is Pearly who channels Mia, and Maya and Mia have a heartfelt reunion. It is absolutely beautiful.

  • @leafbarrett Well, the point of her dying... Well, usually, Maya is the one who channels Mia. And, if you channel someone, you are unconscious. Maya channels Mia, but she never gets to see her. Which is kind of sad. So.... Yeah. The last time they talked was on the phone...

  • @leafbarrett way I woulda done it:

mia leaves in secret one night to scour the world for answers about her mom.

immiediately after she leaves, redd white shows up, thinking she's there.

he ransacks her place, takes the evidence, and frames mia for treason.

(remember, redd white was an information dealer. basically, a freelance spy.)

the story follows mostly the same, but story 2 never happens.

maya arrives in town, to find her sister, the 2 search for answers.

redd white is the series final boss

  • @Rougamaru My Phoenix Wright knowledge may be somewhat limited (I actually haven't seen the first game yet, despite seeing the second and some of the third), but my opinion... The spirit channeling thing is making Mia's death seem rather trivial in my eyes. I mean, yes, she is dead, but what does that really MEAN if you can call her back at any time? Next to nothing. At least that's what I think.

  • ...Why is Maya losing in Gamespot's All Time Greatest Sidekick competition? Especially with moments like this?

  • Von karma on violin and edgeworth on flute very improbable seeing that if this was real life
