This video was taken at the Trinidad and Tobago Computer Society (TTCS ; http://ttcsweb.org/) tech meeting on Sunday April 20th, 2008.

The meeting was our attempt to try Johnny Chung Lee's project "Low-Cost Multi-point Interactive Whiteboards Using the [Nintendo Wii] Wiimote". Visit Johnny Lee's website at http://www.johnnylee.net/ for more details.

Part I is a presentation by Mike Tikasingh showing how the infra-red pens were made.

Part II (this video) is a presentation by Paul Worswick showing how the Nintendo Wii Remote was connected to a Windows PC wirelessly using Bluetooth. He then showed how to use the infra-red pen to turn a computer screen projected on a wall to create a interactive whiteboard.

Part III shows the practical use of the infra-red pen and the Wiimote to create a interactive whiteboard from the computer screen projected on a wall and then on a computer screen projected on a table.

  • bluesoleil witch shows best results.

useually dongle is not needed (if build in)

    but sometimes it does.

    but always use bluesoleil.

more will work and will work.

sometimes they wont work without bluesoleil!

  • FYI, Windows 7 RC worked "out of the box" in recognizing the Wii Remote

  • i love trinidad i vist my cousins alll the time

  • i have an LED screen, will this work? cause i want to try it!!!

  • The video discusses positioning the Wiimote. Really the easiest thing to do is just set it directly ontop of your projector. This allows you to know that if your light pen is in the shadow that you're casting then the Wiimote can't see it. You can get a little more resolution if off to the side, but it's really a lot harder to stay out of the way. Besides, if you are actually a teacher you should be practices at getting out of the way and letting your class see what you're writing anyway.

  • can i get a right klick on it to?

  • could you suggest me the program to identify my Wii, please send me it, if it's possible, my user is josephjoecastle in hotm*il y*hoo. thanks
