  • tapping isn't for fags. its for people who like the sound of tapping. you can't just walk up to someone and say "Hey bitch, my noise can but up ur noise" whats the point in it? if you don't like it don't watch it

  • how can you compare jazz and shred ? thats like comparing death metal with dance music.

dont get me wrong but every body uses the same chords and notes, the only factors that differs are the rhythm, the richness of a chord, progression and feel. that leads me to another question, why is tapping for fags ? its a technique that people use to get the sound that they want its just like anyother tech out there from chicken picking in country to golpe and paddle strokes in flamenco.

  • @jake839 He played with freaking Frank Zappa...ofcourse he made a name playing Jazz.

  • Yo, thanks for recommending Lenny Breau! I never knew him till I read your informative, if somewhat offending comment. However, it's strange for me to consider him a representer of simpler music while calling Satch and Vai mindless shredders... I mean, yeah, they play faster, but Lenny also hits a lot of notes while improvising. You should also note that a lot of cool sastch songs have more common chord progressions than Lenny's.

  • I totally agree. Plus, there are a lot of stuff, voicings, chords e cetera that you can't get out of a guitar without tapping. Once I stumbled into an interesting chord while I was jamming. I dont know the name of the chord, but it was fret 11 on the low E-string, 13 on A, 12 on D, 14 on g, 13 on b and 15 on the e-string. So, the notes were basically Es-Bs-D-a-c-a. If you want the arpeggiated and all notes ringing out, there's no escape from applying tapping.

  • it's adding your own flavor.. it's how steve feels so that's why heused that tech. maybe he's confuse that time.. hehehe.

  • FUCK YOU!

  • there would be no need for steve to tap over a Emaj7b9-Dm#5-Abmaj6/7 progression, he made his name famous in shred and metal , not jazz

  • *beat up
