The first full-length feature by LA-based artist and filmmaker Anna Biller (The Hypnotist; A Visit From The Incubus), VIVA is "a spot-on spoof of low-grade late 60s/early 70s sexploitation flicks" (Variety) that joyously and faithfully pays homage to the classics of the genre. The film will open at selected UK cinemas on 15th May 2009 and will be released on DVD (£15.99) in June 2009.

I just don't get the purpose of movies like this, there's an irony here. This is a spoof of films that over-saturated the film industry... SO DO WE REALLY NEED ANOTHER? It doesn't matter if it's retro,classic,dated,spoofed,re-edited,re-done... they are a dime a dozen, and that's about how much I'd pay to see yet another movie like this.

Why buy this, when there's so many great examples of The Real Thing out there to be had? I GET why it'd be great fun to MAKE it, but, BUY it??!?!
