@thegreendestiny If you want to be politically correct, than the Russian term should be translated into English as 'GRANDFATHER FROST' because 'ДЕД' означает 'Grandfather' or 'Granddad'.
@scottsKW New Year Holiday is celebrated on the night of the 31st and drags into Jan 01, sometimes till the very morning. The Russian X-mas ihappens on Jan 6th/Jan 7th. Russian Churches conduct special Xmas services on the night of the 6th.
Is it a different cultural custom to have a blue St Nicolas suit, or is that something different, don't russians celabrate "New Years" on the 16th or so there also?
