I grew up seeing all three on tv in the Washington DC area back in the 1970s. Seems like THE channel to watch when it was time for news was WTOP Channel 9. Pat Collins is on WRC-TV Channel 4 now in DC. But Mike Buchanan, where did he GO?? He was on Channel 7 WJLA for a while, then I heard him on a local radio station in DC after that. I still really like BOTH Mike and Pat. Davey Marlin-Jones scared me as a little kid LOL. He was funny to me when I was older though, those movie reviews... :-)

Davey used to have this bit where he'd review 23 movies in about 90 seconds with his thoughts written out on little blue index cards. He'd tear them into different shapes and sized and either throw them away or tuck them in his vest pocket if he really liked the film.
I cannot watch local TV news anymore.

This is what local news should be. From what I understand, WTOP was THE authority on news in Washington in the 60's and 70's.

Wow - I'm impressed to see such well-structured, thoughtful, and strategic promos from 1976! You don't typically see this level of enterprising thought and effort from that era, allowing a reporter or critic to ruminate about his job, in the FIELD no less. I thought these first surfaced in the 80's. Thanks for posting this surprisingly enlightening trio of promos, and for the nostalgia value, too. LOVE the film camera! - a Promo Mgr in Denver
