  • im so happy i found you! how can you tell the difference between geographic tongue and leukoplakia? I have had geographic tongue my whole life and now my dentist and oral surgeon think i have leukoplakia... im only 29!!!! when i look at the pics online it looks more like geographic tongue.. please help! thnx

  • @lukesimas in Leukoplakia there are white, raised, vertical ridges on the sides of the tongue although in some cases it can occur under the tongue or inside the cheeks. It is thought by some to be caused by the Epstein-Barr virus. GT is generally bald spots with white circles but can take different forms. See HealthyTongueSecrets website for more info.

  • Hi Tim! My name is sue, im 13 from london. And i have geographical tongue and i guess, i do try drinking milk everyday. But, im not really seeing any differences, when ever i eat tomatoes, or spicy foods, my tongue hurts, not alot, it just feels sore. I really am trying to get rid of it, but i dont know what to do! Can you help? :) and i really look up to you, you seem like a very good person. =P

  • @xxxsuexxx23 Spicy and acidic foods often irritate GT when it is painful it is called burning mouth syndrome (or burning tongue syndrome). Milk doesn't help it, yogurt might help some but the real key is vitamins.

  • @urugujose Often the reason it comes back is because the original problem returned. If it is inflammation the inflammation has returned. If it is nutritional the deficiency has returned. See my new videos for more information.

  • @HealthyTongueSecrets hi tom : i have been looking for an answer for what i have in my tongue for years, i dont know how or when my tongue started to be a geographic tongue, i suspected it was just only candida but i treated several times the candida with no results in my tongue.

my acupuncturist when she look at it says it is inflammation in my body and by treating it , the tongue looks a lot better but anyhow comes back.

please let me know what you think, i need help

  • Thanks John! It really is amazing how our bodies can heal themselves if given the proper nutrients. Without them it's like trying to build a brick wall without enough bricks. So the body has to subsititute a little mud here and a little wood there and the wall is no where near as strong as it could be.

  • Its great to have someone actually interested in improving persons health!
