- "They are 99.9 percent positive"
I wouldn't bet all my money on that "psychological" chance of 99.9%, because the flood never happened and that whole Genesis story is just a myth, so there was no Ark. I'd bet on that 0.1% chance that it was just another scam to rip off a few fundies who were gullible enough to fund such "scientific" research. It's fund-a-mental, my dear Watson!

There really is no difference between rational and logical thought if I correctly understand the subtlety between their definitions and the context in which they were used.

@jxn0010 Suppose your children were taught in school that the world was created when the tooth fairy wove her wand across the galaxy, and some whack story about 2 naked people, a talking snake and a tree, all in the name of spreading the sacred word of the tooth fairy.
Further more, suppose people would start wars on who has the correct version of the tooth fairy, or start killing people simply because they believe a different version.
I wish that god's role was the same as the tooth fairy!

"It does not matter what that book says. At all. On any level."
I wanted to high five Jeff right when he said that. Well, I'll gently smack my laptop screen and call it good.

This is where they reply OH I don't believe that.... the bad guys rewrote it to steer you away
and i say SO HOW YOU KNOW IT'S REAL
-
Ok I take the position of Militant atheist my meaning is if I know your religious I will intellectually attack you regardless of religion. Now I have 2 friends and I get the same 3 replies whenever i back them into a corner
1. If it makes people feel good to believe it then why's it wrong?

Been listening to this show for a month now... Are these people you speak to really from the same part of the world as Dimebag Darryl?!
-
It's funny how callers don't make sense because they're trying to prove how right they are by using big words they don't understand
-
Regarding the last caller:
Exactly , through all the slaughtering in the dark ages how many "Einsteins" and "Hawkins" did we as human beings kill............ :(
It seems to me like it takes much more effort to not believe that it would ever take to believe... I'm lost if one does not believe something and why does he argue about. I don't believe in the tooth fairy but I don't go out and seek those who do and try to argue with them

Yes, being an atheist in a religious environment requires some critical thinking skills, so if thinking is too much effort, you are probably right.
- "I'm lost if one does not believe something and why does he argue about."
God is irrelevant. The problem is that the large majority of the world population still holds such ignorant and harmful beliefs, and acts upon those beliefs, too.
