Liberty University School of Law Dean Mathew Staver speaks on the rule of law and America's founding heritage at the "Virginia, Stand Up For Jesus!" rally on Capitol Square in Richmond, Va. on November 1, 2008. The event honors the six Virginia State Police chaplains who were forced to resign for praying in Jesus' name and additionally asks that Governor Tim Kaine (D) reinstate these chaplains.
Preaching to the choir. You cannot teach or support law in America without divorcing yourself from the idea of a state religion. Failure to adhere to the establishment clause of the First Amendment constitutes a violation of the U.S. Constitution. This is an offense that I take very seriously. Those who persist with such an effort need to relocate to a region where freedom of religion is not upheld, perhaps Saudi Arabia, Iraq, or Iran.

Those who know Mat Staver personally know he is a selfish, callous individual. Btw, I'm a conservative and will have nothing to do with Mat Staver or what he stands for. He uses and manipulates people to push HIS agenda, not the conservative agenda.

Too bad you couldn't get closer with that video camera, Steven, because this sort of footage, if widely circulated, could torpedo the Virginia GOP. Staver's statements on the American founding are so thoroughly off the wall, so completely detached from historical reality, that they seem to have emerged from some alternate universe.
