Beginning chords by sax and guitar kinda sounds like beginng of Stravinsky's rite of spring
-
@bobjazz11 He got fired in a pet store
-
Like it, man! The best part is at 9:01
-
@bobjazz11 Look man, I listen to Davis, Parker, Coltrane, Monk, Rollins and so on. But man do I think this sounds horrible
-
@maxroachtribute the drums sound bad.
-
@CliftonMcCallMusic - this has form. it is harmolodic. the level of structure is a matter of degree. ornette has been developing this style ever since. miles transformed into something (bitches brew , etc) that barely touched on this style. the causality may even be reversed as to who influenced who.
-
based on what? Bern Nix and Ronald Jackson are frequent collaborators and the coleman sound includes the layers they create.
-
@CliftonMcCallMusic Ornette coleman was doing this before that album. He had an album called Free jazz in 1960. Miles probably got it from him.
-
the rest of the musitians are crap apart from coleman
-
@jtrap22 I would say Miles was in some ways responsible for the rise of this style Listen to some of his progressive stuff with Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hanock in the 60s. (I reccommend footprints). It's almost as free as this is, except it has a form. A very loose difficult to follow form. Check it out and see what I mean.
Wow, that's like listening to some guys builing a shed for 10 angry wasps...
