Aaah yes... sesame street... a much smarter alternative to the teletubbies. Jim Henson was a true genius. And it is because of his genius idea which has survived 40 years, I was able to post this video. So thank you Jim Henson, had it not been for your thinking outside the box... I wouldn't have been watching elmo's world when I was 6. What a show that was!... Did I mention I edited this clip a bit?

  • Funny thing is, in my school when it's someone's birthday we search youtube for some birthday related videos. Guess whose video popped up?

  • Baaahaha! I feel like a proud part of the educational system now.

  • Yeah....happy birthday for sucking off of the American taxpayers for 40 years. I wonder how long you would have lasted if you would have to survive in the free market?

  • you make a good point there

  • @32Pennies: Liberal? Radical? That's laughable. What Sesame Street promotes--diversity, tolerance, friendship, etc.--ought to be universal practice. It's safer & more moral than the garbage we got now that promotes teen pregnancies (Teen Mom/Skins/16 & Pregnant/I Didn't Know I Was Pregnant), exploits little children by dolling them up & again putting looks over personality (Toddlers & Tiaras), & basically eradicating society of family values showing what's right & wrong.

  • @TherealRNO I like the "brainwashing" line. Sesame Street is ALL about brainwashing! They've been pushing their liberal radical views down our throats for over 40 years now. Google this..... "IS SESAME STREET SPREADING LEFT-WING PROPAGANDA" They ADMIT that they do it!

  • @32Pennies: I doubt it. PBS IS public television & it there that shows like Sesame Street thrive, because educational entertainment is their purpose, unlike the brainwashing tripe on most cable/satellite networks. Government props up PBS because it is a non-for-profit company that relies on pledge drives from "Viewers Like You".

  • @TherealRNO People do like it, and I'm 100% positive that if the government would stop subsidizing PBS & NPR that shows that are popular would get picked up by another network. Government needs to stop propping up business' that can't stand on their own is all I'm saying!

  • @32Pennies: STFU. Sesame Street is the childhood for 4 generations & it's not about to be stopped because some people, for some unfathomable reason, dislike it.

  • why is there all that beeping?

  • Make a wish.

    I wish I wasn't here.

  • Just checked out President Obama's commentary celebrating Sesame Street 40th anniversary on the new site called Youshook. It was so funny.
