because, the creator would have to change the story.....again. Play Lament of Innocence, It suppose to be the origins of the Belmonts and Dracula for this series.

@Tenkuuken Not really. Why can't Gabe have a son (Alucard?) who goes on to betray his father and sire a whole new clan, naming them Belmont to remind them of their charge to hunt down Gabe and atone for their family's mistake? Would also give an explanation why the clan could be powerful, they have vampire abilities but being so diluted it doesn't make them actual vamps.

@saessia except, unless Konami (or IGA for that matter) says that Gabriel and Marie had a child prior to Marie being murdered, the Belmont clan does not exist in LoS. Or, to make the Belmont clan work, it would be another family branch
