Davos Confronts Crisis Over Western Capitalism
Instead of opening with its usual session on the economic forecast for the year ahead, this year's World Economic Forum at Davos started off with debates on the future of Western capitalism.
In the midst of escalating eurozone debt crisis and increasing disparities between the rich and the poor, experts from across the globe asserted that the historic motors of the 20th century global economy will have to reform or die.
Some went as far to contend that state capitalism on the Chinese model is in the ascendency.
