@42jemini if you focus you will see that computers never play as humans, playing good or bad they play like bots, thats ver important when you play a match ;)
-
at about 1:38 there was an extension to be used at the lower star point going up, cutting there could kill sais middle area.
-
@setstage not enterily true. computers have a limited reading ability, tehy don't have the advantage over humans in that aspect... reason being when you read you discard meaningless sequences, it's very difficult to define a meaningless sequence for a computer (that's also the reason most people have problems solving a "hard" 3 moves problem, although it does not require muchactual reading, you just keep missing the right move. THERE acomputer has the advantage.

@cleo958 To a computer, tenken is the ideal move because it has limitless possibilites, equal open spaces around it, it essentially has no foresight and plays like a 12 year old.
-
it's weird to begin with tenken...
-
they move their stone before having decided their move, they are douchebags
-
then maybe 14-ish kyu players tend to get bored and lose because of that, in that case it could be that the botis weaker than its rank, and also maybe if it's a commercial bot the producer may want to boost the rank ;) but of course that's not the case of 14k AIs because they really arent competitive (gnugo, which is free and popular, is stronger than that even on a slow pc).
-
@42jemini well, the thing is, if you talk about internet ranks (I mean playing against bots, like, on kgs) the level (of both humans and computers) is solely given according to losses/wins. if you play a lot with thecomputer, though, you will have problems playing with humans (at least for me this was true) because the computer style is more, uhm, static, you just know where it WON't invade while a human might do that and throw you into panic.
-
@brandalfgjfj I am not sure of any of that. All I know is that I can beat a 14K bot laughably easily, but I struggle against 16K humans. If the bots' strength is accurate, I should be a 12 or 13K, but there is no way I can beat a human player of said rank.
-
@42jemini actually in go the rank is given by strenght, the strongest aiiis supposed to be 4d meaning it plauys at the level of a 4d, pros and cons of the AI included. of course this is a little game for gba (right?) so thge level does not matter (and yes its ridiculously weak).
Sai didn't play his usual in that game

Try to keep your stones connected a little better and don't pick pointless fights. Remember that you don't need to try to take liberties away directly to get a good result. Worry about your own liberties, too; in open space, adding a stone to your group can be net +2 liberties, while putting it next to opponent is generally only -1 to his.
At 2:21 for example, your group on the left side is already strong; play on the right side instead if you want to make sure White can't do anything.
