ITaaS - EMC Ionix UIM 2.0 and VMware Project Redwood Preview

This is a quick demonstration of what EMC and VMware are working on to make ITaaS simple and easy.

EMC Ionix Unified Infrastructure Manager (UIM) turns Vblocks into integrated infrastructure - a "pool of pools", makes creating service offerings from those pools and subsequently end-to-end provisioning/deprovisioning simple. It makes making the PHYSICAL infrastructure elastic possible. It also makes managing MANY Vblocks as simple as managing one - and enables the set of Vblocks (end to end) to be partitioned into Multi-tenant domains.

This also includes a preview of technology coming in future releases from VMware - codenamed project Redwood. It turns the pool of resources provided by Vblock and UIM into easy end-user consumable IT as a service via a simple, easy to use multi-tenant portal.
