Andre Andersson Odin's Arm

This exceptional collaborative effort between Swedish knifemaker Andre Andersson and Swedish armorer Patrik Pettersson is among the most impressive pieces ever on BladeGallery.com. After months of full-time effort, their masterwork came to fruition.
The Damascus steel used throughout was forged by Andre from 15N20 and 20C carbon steels and has a high contrast. The gauntlet, from plate to hinges, is made from his Damascus with pins and spikes formed from non-Damascus steel.
The gauntlet is accompanied by a leather arm pad and is attached to the hand using leather strips. Accompanied by display stand. Exceptional work throughout.
From the tip of the longest finger to the point of the cuff, the gauntlet measures 16 3/4 in. The opening for the arm measures 5 1/4 in. across. The knuckles measure 4 1/2 in. across. The video below will take a few minutes to load (it's 3 megs!), but the wait is well worth while. The gauntlet is articulated so as to provide full movement for the wearer -- from wrist, to fingers. Each finger has four hinged sections. The back of the palm is formed from five separate sections of Damascus plate -- each hinged, allowing full movement.
