@usindependent50 Like I said, you're correct in the sense that RDX usually used to do that is extremely loud. However, this is not at all a rule, there are many, many types of much less briscant explosives available to do the job.
As for thermite, I fail to see the objection, even common TV programs show it off on frequent basis precisely for its ability to cut through solid steel. Here's a makeshift charge cutting a replica WTC column, per se: /watch?v=5d5iIoCiI8g
Also, aforementioned Komatsu

I dont care what the NIST tested. The only charge that could have eliminated the columns would have created an enormous detonation.
Care to tell me what kind of thermite charge could completely make it through one of the columns? I am aware that there are absolutely zero.

@usindependent50 This is old NIST line which assumes RDX and high-charge blasting caps are the only possible explosives in the scenario. In this case it wouldn't just be a loud bang, it would make most of bystanders deaf or simply dead.
RDX, however, is far from the only explosive in existence, and there are many types of explosives and incendiaries available for steel-cutting operations. Komatsu have even patented a relatively quiet thermite charge back in the 80s.

Yeah, I agree. This doesn't make us look good. Fix the audio, don't chop out major parts of their testimony. What's the deal here?

I'm not trying to be argumentative for the sake of being argumentative. This video is not good. It's out of sync to start off. Second, the first guy doesn't even finish a complete sentence when he's cut off right after he drops the alleged bombshell claiming he heard "booms". Who edited it like this? The video is over before I've even figured out who's even talking because of the sync problem. It's all out of whack.
"then you heard from far away...boom boom...as the a...floors started.....ENDS"
This video is horrible. The audio is out of synch, the video is edited to the point you get just a snip of what these guys are saying. Come on IC911Studies...you want to be taken serious please post some solid videos.

You need to talk to NIST about the qualitiy of the audio and video. Many of the videos they released in response to our FOIA request have horrible quality audio, video or both, including audio that is out of sync with the video. Regarding the editing, we gave the source file (42A0124-G25D35), so it can be consulted directly if you would like to watch the entire ABC special to make sure nothing was taken out of context.
