Excellent footage of '119 operations at I think, Norton AFB in San Bernadino, CA.

If anyone can confirm or deny locale, please feel free to hollar at me. :-)

Watch for Boeing C-97 Stratofreighters in the background too!

  • That is my unit - the 452 Troopp Carrier Wing, March AFB. 1964 I think. I was a loadmaster on those planes - those guys are all actors - but the My Three Sons people put on a great Christmas show for us that year. Memories!!

  • @tomgauthier THANKS for sharing that!!

  • Great vid, dont take this off youtube.

  • @gooseneck12 it will You Tube, NOT me that takes it down! Already two copyright strikes against me, so I'm on borrowed time. Let me ask you, if I build a website dedicated to these classics, would you come by and view? Or would you only patronise YT for whatever they offer. I'm trying to get a "Feel" from my subscribers if it's You Tube, or the people that do all the work editing, uploading, cultivating their channels that they like so much. To me, YT is simply a "Host", and the users are king.

  • hey no POVs on the ramp!

  • That was a 1963 Chevy Bel Air Station Wagon. My dad bought one. His had the cool "air louvers" on the back window area. Three on the tree. He used to say "If you could drive this thing (Clutch felt like a brick) you can drive anything".

8 of my brothers and sisters and me learned to drive on it!

  • Could be either March or Norton, cant really tell from the film. Back then March was SAC and not sure they would let TV show film there. My job was out at the alert facility but I also flew with the c-119 reserves. We use to take off go to El Paso for the night swing around the next day back to Nellis and back home- great memories lots of fun...

  • @mcdonnell220 depended on the model..

  • @mcdonnell220 Mc, some models of the 119, like the one my father flew, had the P&W 4360's... could be mechanics nightmare at times..

  • @irish89055 I think they were Wright R-3350s, but don't quote me!
