The doctor friend of Ginko's needs his help. While out on a call, three village children broke into his storage shed and stumbled upon an artifact of deadly consequence: An ink stone.
@Swansen03 Food as pleasure is mostly a western thing? I don't think so. Any civilization that has delicacies takes pleasure in food. Between the Chinese philospher Lin Yutang and the film Tampopo, I'd say Asians damn well love their food.
@HellsRaven4444 this anime is like around the Meiji era, but, with some 20th century technology thrown in. I highly doubt they ate stuff like that back then, maybe the rich, maybe. Of which, food for most, outside of western societies, was about nourishment, thats its(as it is). Ether way, no, i think this was just added for fun and creativity. :)
@iniudan not sure about eating ice, i think food as a pleasure is mostly a western thing as it is, but, there isn't much hydration in snow, takes a lot of snow to make a glass of water, that and it really lowers your core temperature, as well, it takes more energy to melt the snow in your body than you get from it, resulting in a net loss of water(used to melt the snow in energy). that and its hard on your teeth. (maybe you were inferring melting it first, however)
@HellsRaven4444 I am pretty sure human have been eating ice since stone age, it just that it been a regular thing is just more recent in history, due to the advance in refrigeration. When you had to rely on ice storage or climate, it was more of a luxury.
@3nk1 i didn't word that very well. Bulk intake being pleasureful, or overly so.

@HellsRaven4444 What wrong with eating ice, I am pretty sure you drank a slushy before. =p
Too bad parent these day mostly teach kid not to eat ice and snow instead of teaching them how to get snow that is appropriate for consumption.
