Final part, includes interview with the great Sir David Willcox, writer of all those wonderful organ arrangements and descants we hear to so many hymns, especially at Christmas. I had to chop out a couple of minutes of Sir Richard Attenborough talking about how he used Oh for the Wings of a Dove in one of his films.

  • Thank you for posting all 4 parts of this documentary. A memorable journey indeed. Ernest Lough's voice, diction and poise make his rendition supreme to this day. I performed the piece as a chorister 50-odd years ago and am quite sure that I made a terrible hash of it.

  • I bet you didn't! Thanks for the kind comments.
