JHP Harinama 2001, Hare Krishna Kirtan Santa Monica

JHP (Jagannatha Harinam Party) was a group of Hare Krishna monks who traveled around Croatia from 1996-1999 and Los Angeles from 1999-2006 playing traditional Hare Krishna mantras in public places using harmonium, mrdanga (drum), karatals (cymbals) and bass guitar for their instruments.

This video is taken in summer 2001, on the streets of Santa Monica, California. This street is called The 3rd street Promenade, perfect for harinam as there are no cars, just shops and shoppers;)

Special thanks to all of the New Dwaraka residents, especially Vrajendra das, who recorded this event and played mridanga for a while. Also Mahat-tattva das, Sarabha das, bhaktin Sara, Snana Yatra das (at that time still Dr. Jonathan, Martanda Das, Atmananda das (at that time still bhakta Dirk), Jaya Gauranga das and all the rest I forgot to mention. ISKCON is Brahma-Madva-Gaudiya Sampradaya. It is one of the four bonafide Sampradayas described in Sri Padma Purana. Srila Prabhupada's teachings which are based on Srimad Bhagavad Gita and Srimad Bhagavatam Mahapuran are as pure and authentic as it can possibly be.

No institution is B-M-G sampradaya just by default. The actions and results show everything.

Labels are not important in the Vedic culture, but by actions Vedas judge the quality.

This is not to say that ISKCON is or isn't, which is not the topic here, but more about the principles which we should use to associate two things. Thanks

Iskcon is based in vedas and it has taken all the reference from vedas so one should have unshakable faith in Iskcon.

Actually, ISKCON should be based on the Vedas. But it is not always so. The truth should be the authority, not otherwise. Devotees are supremely independent, because we all know we have Krsna in our hearts, and our own loving relationship with Him. No institution can take this away or control it. If an institution is fully based on the principles given by Srila Prabhupada, then yes, it is a real ISKCON. Otherwise, we should question authority when not displaying proper attitude or following SP.

Your statements are based on what?

It is like a laymen stating that electricity does not come from the powerplant, and states it as if it is an absolute truth. What you're saying is that you don't believe Krishna is a divine being, which would be more appropriate. But that would be just your belief then, wouldn't it?

Unless you can prove your statements, you are only being silly and no one is taking you seriously. Why don't you try what we do and see for yourself if it is right or wrong?
