One of my favorite American heroes. John Fitch seems to have been everywhere, met everyone & done everything. I was proud to have met him at Lime Rock Park and shared a lengthy casual conversation. He's credited as the first-ever pilot to shoot down a fighter jet (ME262) in a prop plane (P51). POW, GP racer, race course designer, car inventor, hiway safety inventor (Fitch barriers), and still racing at 95 yoa. The list goes on & on. Every American should know about John.
