The McCalmans came to Coal Aston Village Hall, Derbyshire, for their last ever English gig prior to Ian McCamans retirement at Christmas. They performed a superb couple of sets to a highly appreciative capacity audience.
In the audience was ex McCalman Hamish Bayne. The whole event was hugely reminiscant for many of us who had been involved with The Cartwheel Folk Club over the years, Also on the bill were the definitive version of Cartwheel - Nick Gibbons, Tony Wood and Geoff Heppel who supported the Macs along with ourselves, Scuppered.
This song is another long time favourite from The Macs but Ian's brilliantly delivered outro was new to most of us.
Here is one who would dearly love one day to see the land of my mother and fathers birth love the music love the stores love the pictures i have seen

Scotland and, in particular, the Highland region is well worth a visit - even from Canada !
I am (at least) of 50% Scottish descent and have always felt at home up there.
The McCalmans were the best of the best as musical ambassadors and will be greatly missed.
