Nice project, a lot of cars on the market are coming with an iPod/iPhone dock but none are fully incorporated. I use a tom-tom mount as my car doesn't have a LCD screen.

@misterromin yes

Can you take the phone and go widescreen with it? If you do, does it go widescreen on your monitor? I'm a modder myself. I like what i see here and understand that this is a great idea. I did this years ago on my accord with a WinXP machine in my glovebox. here's the link: cardomainDOTcom/ride/418213/20
02-honda-accord Besides that, Checkout the work i've done on my channel! -
It's unfortunate that you haven't posted a second video yet. I'm interested in this as well. Does the Lilliput automatically work with the iPhone (given the necessary jailbreak/apps)? If so, do you know if it's just this particular model, or if other models would work?

@K23watson: Mimics uses bluetooth pairing, which eliminates that possibility if you plan on using bluetooth in your car. Also, Mimics requires you to get an app that makes everything landscape. So I'm assuming if he had this app, it would have looked the same way. I'm not bashing Mimics or anything, it's really great - just not if you want bluetooth capabilities.

How Is this connected?

From the Mimics video I have seen on customgadz channel, the responce is much faster than this one, suggesting he didn't use the Mimics. Also, the Mimics looks landscape native where this one is portrait. :)
Sorry I haven't been able to answer all your comments, great news to hear everyone is interested in this. I've got loads of academic work to get through but once I've handed this assignment in I'll upload a new video.
To clear up any confusion, this DOES require a JAILBROKEN IPHONE and the Lilliput FA1042 does require some hardware modification - technical ability is an advantage!

sure its possible and has been done before - only bigger: search for "iphone table"
kiezguy 1 year ago
@kiezguy I'm not sure how iPhone table works, but it looks simulated to me. Controlling an iPhone on an external touch screen monitor isn't as smooth, quick or sensitive as the video portrays (trust me!)

Wouldn't it have been easier to just buy an iPad ?
Chinezooo 1 year ago
@Chinezooo No because I can't carry an iPad in my pocket and iPad doesn't have telephone function. I want to get into my car, dock my iPhone and control the software on a bigger screen. When I leave the car, I simply undock the iPhone and it won't attract theives.

Please explain how??? otherwise it just looks like another fake!
racorbit 1 year ago
@racorbit I'll describe exactly how I've done it in my next major video. Please refer to the video description for an intro into how I've got this working. Please note you do need a jailbroken iPhone/iPod Touch
