After he is finish depreciating the apartment building to 0, he could sale them and start all over again. When a person changes their income from earned income (like what you and I get) to investment income , they begin to pay less taxes.

Now, Let us add a little tax planning. If Mr Buffet was to take some of his money and invest in real estate, lets say apartments, and did not make a dime. He would pay a management company to manage the apartments, so he does not have to invest his time either. Now when tax time comes he gets to depreciate the apartment building, which is subtracted from his other income. Depending on the value of these apartment buildings, he could actual pull his tax bill to 0%.

stevef: Chris M can't be considered a journalist, what do you consider Hannity or morning joe, they obviously love McCain for what I don't know.
