Same thing in Spokane WA in the '80's - all night Robert Cray at the Smoke Shop Tavern. Unforgettable live performances and this is the best rendition of this tune because of Cray's voice....live was just unbeatable.
Musicians, Terry Rob, Curtis Salgado, LLoyd Jones, and Paul Delay. One night I caught Terry, Curtis, LLoyd, and Robert Cray at a small club in NW Portland. I have yet to be able to forget that set as I knew what was happening as it was happening. It was like some kind of musically nirvana. They knew it to. It was Terry's regular night, but Cray was back in town, and everybody was on deck for what was likely some kind of reunion of old buddies. Can't describe how cool that set was.
Best Cray Albam ever. Way to bad nobodies heard of it. Check that sound mix. Fucking sweetness. I saw him do this whole albam at the Key Largo (Portland Oregon,) in the early eighties. Danced all night 2 feet in front of the man. Too bad he forgot he ever recorded this stuff. Far as I know he hasn't played anything from this albam live for years. Sad under rated and forgotton work. Some of the best shit produced in that time. In those days he palled around and played with local
