  • Wait a second: kinda missed the shutdown effect. Oh well, still really good: did you buy the Hals Labs soundcard or did you get something else?

  • @Red62 not sure whats Hals Labs is. the sound chip is from Replica Props.com and i wired it up myself using DPDT switches and a breadboard.

are you talking about the shutdown sound after you stop firing or the sound when the pack is turned off? i dont use a sound for the pack shutdown because you never see them turn off the packs in the movie therefore you dont know if there is indeed a pack shutdown sound or not.

  • Thats fukn phat dude .... sorry son dad dont know how to make one of those things

  • @Lowclef how do you know the grip doesn't also activate it? No one has ever actually ahd their hands on the real movie prop, and the ones that were found were were broken.

  • @Deathclok yeah i saw the scene. thats whats called "acting" "juicing the scene" or "working the prop." Just cuz he twisted the end doesnt mean thats the mechanism. The scene where Ray exits the elevator clearly shows how the tip is extended. There is no twisting required.

  • @Lowclef you need to watch the gozer scene again and watch how the tips extend when the grips twist.

  • @Deathclok Alright, let me put this one to bed once and for all... go pull out your Ghostbusters DVD, And watch Ray's hands and thrower at 31 min 32 seconds. He pulls the thrower, flips the switch and the tip extends. Theres even an audible click when he does it. thats it, nothing else needs to be done. Theres no twist, theres no extra movement. Its just a pull of the little green lever.

  • @Lowclef I think it is the twist, otherwise they wouldn't have shown a that detailed closeup of it.

  • @Deathclok yes but thats not the mechanism. some of the guys twist but not all. and ray pulls the lever without twisting right outside the elevator. it stands to reason that the lever is the activation switch despite the fact that they twist on the roof top

  • @Lowclef watch the part where they fight gozer, and watch as the tips extend while they twist the handle. When Venkman says "Make 'em hard"
