  • @HipRockInc I agree actually about the separate and unequal :) And don't forget, Maryland, like most states with full marriage got there by way of passing civil unions first.

  • @exgaysurvivordan I guess that makes sense then. I was born in Colorado (my family moved before I could establish any real memories there). It's good to see another state (I currently live in Maryland where gay marriage is a hot topic in our government right now) move towards granting homosexual people equal rights.

    Still, using the word marriage should not be a detracting factor from the argument. Civil unions seem like a separate but equal institution.

  • @HipRockInc because a civil union is the bill currently under consideration by the legislature. Focus et al have been saying to our legislators this is a "backdoor strategy towards marriage" and if our folks were to use the word marriage it would only validate what our opposition is saying.

  • My question is, why are they lobbying only for civil unions and not full marriage?
