  • Dude, it was just a joke about Jerry Douglas. I was in no way trying to disrespect him or his playing. I was trying to illustrate how blown away I was by Ickes. I had never payed attention to him before this months issue of Guitar Player. I was just trying to be funny.

  • @XMathis Rob has every inch of the ability of JD,and vice versa, they just play different styles at different times. JD could emulate anything Rob plays and Rob could emulate anything JD plays. It really isn't fair to compare them, I basically view them as equal gods in the reso world and leave it at that. Probably the best musical event one could hope for is Rob and JD playing together.

  • I will say it again, after listening to Rob Ickes, a lot, I have to say.... Who is Jerry Douglas? Isn't he some sort of used car salesman? :)

  • They are the Mr. Big of bluegrass! :)

  • This is such unique music! It's like bluegrass blues...I love it.

  • Great job guys! Never heard this song before, I really like it though. Could there possibly be a new album coming up that this one might be on?
