Companies do not exist for the benefit of their employees. They exist to create a profit. When they do, the employees too benefit. Roger Smith did EXACTLY the right thing, just not enough of it, and not quickly enough. Michael Moore is a Communist, and I don't think he would argue that. So if that is your political belief, you are welcome to it. In the Capitalist system, and in our democracy you are free to say it. But not the other way around. Remember that when you listen to this man.

Roger Smith saw the writing on the wall long before anybody else. Before he was CEO he came from accounting and saw that most of the cars were losing money. He did the right thing and try to slim down......He didn't do it fast enough. However Flint is a shithole and good riddens to that city.

Why did GM get out of the bus making business. GM buses especially in the 80s were meant to last. Just look in Toronto Canada where GM buses are still running to this day.
