Texas has the nation's highest proportion of people without health insurance - 25 percent. But the 5.7 million uninsured Texans aren't necessarily who you think.
Below is a list of the Democratic Senators that voted against the "Public Option" and the healthcare lobbying money that they received in 2008. My source is Open Secrets. Remember, this in ONLY 2008.
Max Baucus: $1,991,965
Blanche Lincoln: $1,104,186
Kent Conrad: $951,328
Bill Nelson: $608,559
Tom Carper: $572,307
Vote these greedy fuckers out of office when their term is up! They are in bed with the lobbyists and don't give a shit about their constitutents.
The problem is not only no access to affordable insurance but also affordable healthcare. I have no insurance, middle income went to the emergency room, spent 90 minutes there, 1 blood test, and 1 ultrasound cost me $3000.00. This is way over priced for the services I received. The cost of regular health care is rediculous and out of the reach of even middle income families. The cost also have to be regulated in some way since it is skyrocketing.
