I'm going to splice a wire on a motorcycle to fit an alarm. How do you protect the soldered splice when you can't slide heat shrink over because there is no open end from the motorcycle wiring?

i use a lighter, works just fine. but MAKE SURE to keep a 1" distance from the shrink tubing if you use a lighter.

He did a pretty good job i think. I think a heat gun is better than a hair dryer because if you have meat or a frozen burrito you can cook it while on the job.
