  • i used a lighter and it worked

  • I'm going to splice a wire on a motorcycle to fit an alarm. How do you protect the soldered splice when you can't slide heat shrink over because there is no open end from the motorcycle wiring?

  • i use a lighter, works just fine. but MAKE SURE to keep a 1" distance from the shrink tubing if you use a lighter.

    No I certainly did not! That's why I watched this video. Now I gotta go watch your other stupid, video in which you failed to mention putting heat shrink on the wire beforehand.

  • he's not a professional actor trained to bring you a smile to your face; he's a technical person who took the time to show me something i needed to know and i thank him for it. please take it as just that and move on with your life, people.

  • He did a pretty good job i think. I think a heat gun is better than a hair dryer because if you have meat or a frozen burrito you can cook it while on the job.
