30th World Religions Conference: [Opening Session - October 16, 2010 - University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada] - Introduction to Christianity by Charles Van Alphen, Waterloo. This conference is organized by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at Canada with the cooperation of several cities, academic institution, faith based associations, students clubs and numerous other organizations. The objective of the event is to promote mutual understanding and respect between the followers of various faiths. Scholars of various religions express the beauties of their respective faiths, in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere of love and brotherhood. Faith groups present spiritual poems and songs. Charles Van Alphen is an accomplished presenter and academic. Charles is a retired elementary teacher and school principal. Taught courses for the Faculty of Education and served as a religion consultant. Presently at St. Michael RC Parish in Waterloo as a parish school liaison. Leads retreats for the reception of sacraments. Prison chaplain at the Grand Valley Institution for Women. Married to Debby and is a proud father of six children and 3 grandchildren.
