God, I truly hope this isn't the future of photography. If everyone just picked up a camera and made "art", then well, it becomes less of an art form. The thing I love about photography is that it merges bits of science and art, and if setting aperture and shutter speed and such to have a good photo become extinct, we'll have lost an amazing art form.

@boardysawesome Actually, I do not think so. You find it funny, and I might find it funny as well. But the average consumer and potential client will actually believe this crap. I actually had a friend that would go around changing cameras and lenses because the pictures were not "beautiful" and it was of course the camera's problem.

It is misleading. Many people nowadays prefer to invest the money on a new DSLR than hire a wedding photographer for example. That is just wrong.

There is more to "great photo's" than pure aesthetic satisfaction in the superficial sense this ad seems to portray.

Photography is about ideas and concepts and the directions they take... and THAT Panasonic Lumix Camera TV commercial, is NOT "simple".

intelligent auto does not help an individual compose. it just puts the auto-cocking mechanism in say, a submachine gun, yes? =P (poor analogy, i know)

knowing how to compose already dictates how a shot will look in the end
