the botom nozzle is supposed to look like that, its called the nuc nozzles and it mixed water and air and its crucial to snowmaking

I wouldn't be surprised if most of that snow was made by the snowgun, however more likely than not there was some already on the ground when the gun was fired up. You could build your own snowgun with the right parts and some simple plans.
