I want to show the solving process of two puzzles, which are very much unlike by appearance. But their underlying solving principle is dramatically the same. I do not have the tools to do the animation. And so I improvised the PowerPoint(MS Office XP) to do the job. If the effects, either audio or video or both, is/are not good enough, please free to tell me and I would try my best to improve it in future. One more thing, I would like to introduce the term, binary art. This term is really a precise description of these two puzzles. And any other comments are welcome! Thank you for watching!

  • Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I've had this game from a friend during my trip in Australia 11 (!!!) years ago and forgot how it was done (while I used to do it so easy) Thought I would never find it out again...thanks for YouTube and thank you again for makinga perfect & clear little movie!! (did turn the sound off, 'cause (sorry) but that music is horrible!) =) Nevertheless: THANKS!

    Thanks for your nice comment!

For the background music, I have changed it.

When you have time, you can come to check it out.

  • Wow that's a lot of stop motion, did you use a regular camera or webcam? Webcam seems like it'd be easier then stop and save frames as you record the entire solution then just trim webcam video and keep only the images that your hands are away. Using sticks to support the puzzles while getting a fame was neat also.

  • Thank you for your ideas given to me!

Before I made this video, I took a few hundred photos during the solving process and use a common programme for presentation to organize them. After that I shot the slides show with normal DC camera.

Thanks for your great support again!

  • Nice video. I watched it long time ago, but never commented. It's done now. ;~)

  • WAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY much better!! =)

  • wow how long did u take to make this vid

  • *binary* puzzles, not just other puzzles, my bad.

  • I was going to watch this earlier but I had a lot on my plate before now!

Pretty insightful video. I knew that the Spinout and the Linking Rings puzzle were similar mathematically in their solutions, but I wasn't quite sure how the linking rings worked exactly.

Do you know of any other puzzles (other than Hexadecimal puzzle and the Brain) that have the same mathematics? I'm interested in other puzzles but they seem to be few and far between in the puzzle market right now.
