Gomi is a yester year MMA fighter, like Wand, Hendo, Fedor, Crocop etc. All greats of the sport but the game has passed them by. MMA is in it's next stage of evolution and hate to say it but it's a little too late for Gomi and co. MMA has evolved into something they're not used to. Black and white TV was great back then but now it's 3D. U know what I mean? Sigh It was great stuff when he was the fireball but now he's the smoked old man yo. =OI

@elbrus05 He wouldn't, Nate has stated that he looks up to Gomi and his fights in Pride. He has also said that Gomi has done waaaay more impressive things then most the people in the UFC (Referring to fighters like Guida, Maynard, etc) and that having the opportunity to fight him was wonderful. He has a lot of respect for Gomi.

@MusicforMe123 um no this is where ur completly wrong. way to repeat what joe rogan said rofl. yes his submission game isnt great.....but he's not 1-3 in the ufc cuz of his jui jitsu as hes beaten many bjj black belts. he lost simply bacause he isnt in his prime anymore. u need to learn ur facts. gomi was never the same after he lost to nick diaz

@maocapoeira Gomi is a very good boxer, he can stand with anyone toe to toe, the problem with Gomi is that he is average on the ground. He has average wrestling and Shooto skills, but in the UFC you need more than that to be a Champion. Almost all his losses are from submissions, BJ Penn: rear naked choke, Marcus Aurelio: arm triangle choke, Kenny Florian: rear naked choke, Clay Guida: Guillotine choke. If he improves on his ground game, Gomi can be a top contender. Its time for a new coach.
