Canada Seal Hunt Anti-Fur Demo/Protest at Canadian Consulate New York City 2.15.10 pt1

Activists in New York City took advantage of the President's Day holiday (and the fact that the Canadian consulate was open) to protest against Canada's continued slaughtering of harp seals on the ice floes of Canada.

Canada, your traditions are sickening - you've blood on your hands, and this sick bloodbath needs to end. Beating and clubbing seals, staining the ice floes bright red, skinning alive and leaving thousands of mutilated carcasses steaming and freezing on the ice - this is just disgusting, cruel and wrong.

Daniel Sullivan, Consul General, stop the seal hunt! Activists will never back down until this killing for fur and vanity stops!

The rich and stupid do NOT need new fur coats - Canada, this killing must end!

I live in canada, and we are truly peaceful people, although we get this bad rep because we club seals. But if America and Canada both switched countries, I bet America would be doing the same! because its such a large business! And dont start hating canadians because our country does this, about 90% of the seals killed are shipped OUT of canada, and most of it to the USA! So if you're against it, dont buy it, thats all im saying.

I dont even know why they are killing them ...They only give fur but who buys them ? today they make synthetic ones even better and they make oil wich is a supplement of omega3 but linseed oil is even better and has a bigger market ! Plus all of the european market is closed to all seal product . Give them their freedom :)

Keep up the good work guy n gals, i heard that most european countries have banned the sale of seal fur :-D i heardon the wspa website, and so this should hopefully be coming to an end soon, keep fighting though.
