"Shooting the Smith & Wesson SW9VE Sigma 9mm Pistol. This is a decent gun to carry or keep in the car and with the heavy 8lb trigger, you will be sure not to have any misfires in a real word scenario. The SW9VE is a direct competitor to the Glock but I still prefer any Glock 9mm over this pistol."

The Sigma is Smith & Wesson's venture into using synthetic materials in gun construction, using high-strength polymer material for the frame. Created in 1994, it also incorporates the currently-fashionable self-cocking or double-action only firing mechanism, so that the pistol can be fired without delay or preparation. The basic model is chambered for the .40 S&W cartridge, but it is also available in 9 x 19mm Parabellum and a sub-compact model in .380 ACP was also manufactured. A limited amount of these guns were also chambered for the .357sig cartridge. The Sigma series pistols are so similar to the competing Glock pistols that Glock sued Smith & Wesson for patent infringement. The case was settled out of court in 1997, with S&W agreeing to make alterations to the Sigma design and pay an undisclosed amount to Glock.

  • some of you people are so fucking ignorant..this gun is a great gun i own one right now and have no problem with the gun...there is a trigger mod u can do to it to make it a much lighter pull...i made mine like a 6lb triger pull..so the people that actually take the time to figur out what u can do to make the gun better..but some of u sitting here beating on it..its a great gun

  • This gun jams after 1000 rounds, my uncle, cousin, grandfather and I all have one and we all regret buying them. It was the first handgun I ever owned and I am now looking at selling it. Do not waste your money, save it and buy something better.

  • the gun is loud ...it feels very cheap shooting ...i urge anyone to stay away from this 299 dollar gub ...save your money ,,,,i can say this ,,,cause im one of several people i know who didnt believ the people who told me not to buy it ...i did anyway ...lets just say i do not have this gun anymore ......i purchased a 1911 for 300 dollars more 599 total its a 45 and its less loud easier to shoot lots of safties if thats your thing ...

  • Way to finish strong on that second target.

  • @theoster you are truly stupid

  • Good shooting! I'm thinking about one from The Gun Source for identical model for $337.

  • just bought one back in june...... it is now at s&w getting fixed. the extractor broke and was failing to feed and eject shells. they are fixing it under warranty thats a plus. i only fired about 400 rounds through it.

  • @Johnm251 you could beak your fingers from the recoil using high recoil weapons.
