@anothercountyheard Illuminatus is full of jokes, most of them hysterically funny. But I'm guessing you're as irony-deficient as most people and don't listen to anyone who isn't as angry and guarded as you are. With a rigid mindset you won't learn much about information science and control systems. Often the Truth is much crazier and more complex than our primate brains are used to, and having a sense of humor can make all the difference between enlightenment and wearing tinfoil hats.

@retron23 HAHA. joke is on YOU retron23! You obviously missed the ironic humor in anothercountryheard`s comment. I personally love Wilson`s books and especially Illuminatus. That`s exacty why I instantly found that comment hilarious. Also I have no doubt that R.A.W. himself would have laughed from his gut from "One will not learn a goddamn thing by reading it". It ties in perfectly. Even (especially) if it is a sincere opinion.
Think about it. It`s like one of Wilson`s characters!

Anyone think that the end of the Illuminatus Trilogy, the fate of HC... anyone ever think that Hagbard's final role (I won't spoil it for those who haven't read it...) anyone think that role was confessional? Was Robert Anton Wilson admitting to his role in the greater scheme of things. I played with this concept for a while before I read Percy Shelley's A Defense of Poetry. In this he calls the poet the legislators of reality.
