It's a shame that lyrical pride in America beckons only derision from the entertainment industry in the U.S., country music aside. Had the Reid brothers been from the states and spent their careers writing of their love for America, very few people would know who they are. They are brilliant songwriters.

I am a fan of The Proclaimers, I love their music. I come here to enjoy their music and videos. It is disturbing to me that people come here with the intent of making others feel bad about themselves. The name calling and the arguing that goes on here is shameful. Just beacuse someone has a different view than your own does NOT make them an idiot. Let's get back to enjoying the videos, and the music.

@FerroJackify29 It's true. When I sing, you can't hear my Southern (SE USA) accent at all. Certain songs require that people lose whatever accent they may have in order to sing more clearly. My choir teacher says it's all about extending your vowels and loosening your jaw. I also like that these guys sing in their natural accents. It's beautiful.

@MartinRVUK Singers don't lose their accent on purpose; It just happens naturally for some people. If you google something like "why do people lose their accent while singing" you should be able to find a pretty good explanation.

I'm from Scotland. It's not all it's cracked upto be. Another western country crippled by debt. Think that's why folk went to America in the first place, for a fresh start. Ironic that it's America that has caused the downfall of freedom and prosperity with the God damn Federal bank. We're all doomed I tells ya. Still, we can enjoy Craig and Charlie in the mean time. Peace.
