This is the final video of a 6 video series showing you how to brew a Java Stout from the Midwest Supplies Peace Java Stout kit. In this video, we bottle our beer with the siphon tubing and bottle filler, cap the filled beer bottles, and talk a little bit about the coming wait until the beer is ready to drink...

  • Which did you use the Iodophor solution or Star San to sanitize your caps ? Just curious. Great video Series BTW !

  • @WatchToddPattison Thank you Todd! I use iodophor to sanitize the bottles and caps because it doesn't foam up like Star San. If someone used Star San in one of those bottle washers, they'd have a mountain of foam to deal with! Plus, since the bottles and caps are not plastic, you don't have to worry about iodine coloration. Hope that helps! Cheers!

  • @terpsichoreankid Yes it did thank you. I gotta find one of those bottle washers, thats a pretty cool piece of equipment.

  • @WatchToddPattison They're pretty cool--and are only about $20--so it's not a huge money drain.

  • Enjoy the videos! Sounds lovely...

  • @dljones33 Be sure to check out the tasting video!

  • @dljones33 Thanks!

  • @jasonjet25 I had great results using the kit from Midwest--if you wind up going AG, definitely check out the recipe on Midwest's site (you can find it by going to the AG kits page and clicking the instructions link). I would image that as long as you had the base malts/extracts correct and some good coffee (which it sounds like you do), you will be good to go. If you can age it in a actual bourbon barrel, you'll have to send me a couple of bottles--because that would be amazing! :-) Cheers!

  • I am looking to brew a coffee bourbon stout to give out as gifts, (all my buddies and my boss love my beer). Do you have any suggestions on recipe or ingredients? I was planning on using Makers Mark and Kona coffee (I live in Hawaii). Any thoughts? I haven't picked out a recipe yet so I was hoping to get some input. Thanks. Great videos

  • @neox79 Yeah! I like that idea! :-) Best of luck with your brew when you are able to do it--I hope you enjoy it!
