I think you need to Make a clone, useing the 30hp moutain wagon engine turning an early mercedes type chain drive 4 speed gear box, and 1903 Fait topileno, sheet metal, and build a steem speedster, like the Big speedster built by Jay leno, but in steam power, and along the lines of the 1911 White steam racer. That's what I think mister.

I think jay lenos white was eather a 1901 or 1907

if cars ran on steam now, it would solve our gas crisis

@michaelbianchi22 Not quite, this one uses gasoline to fire the burner, gets about 14 mpg on fuel and about 7 mpg on water. In addition to needing gasoline, you need a water source. Very neat machine though, I feel blessed for having the opportunity to work on it.

Awesome cars! I'm amazedd everytime I hear about one, or see one. Saw one at Estes Park, CO. Unfortunately it sat in the lobby of the Stanley hotel. Nice cars though.
:-)

You just missed the annual Stanley Rally at the Stanley Hotel. There was a large number of various Stanley Steamers there this summer. I think they plan to host another one in Kansas in May of 2010.

most people today if you ask about a stem engine car they look at you like what they had steam engine cars. One car that caught my eye to was when they showed Jay leno's Steam powered White.

The guy driving the Stanley in this video was looking for a Doble or a White, he just could not find one. Maybe one day....
